2025 Pritzker Mimarlık Ödülü sahibi Liu Jiakun tarafından tasarlanan Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick, Suzhou'nun Xiangcheng bölgesinde yer alıyor. Müze, imparatorluk dönemine ait Jin Zhuan (altın tuğla) üretim alanlarını kapsayan Suzhou Imperial Kiln Ruins Park'ın bir parçası olarak, tarihî üretim tekniklerine ve malzeme kültürüne mimari bir arşiv niteliği kazandırıyor. Yapının kurgusu, geçmişte Pekin'deki Yasak Şehir gibi yapılarda kullanılan Jin Zhuan'ın üretildiği mekânları soyutlayarak yeniden düzenliyor.

Tuğla elemanların ritmik tekrarına dayanan cephe sistemi, hem malzemenin karakterine hem de üretim sürecine gönderme yapıyor. Müze, zemine oturan yatay kütleleri, kontrollü ışık kullanımı ve boşluk-doluluk oranlarıyla yerle kurduğu ilişkiyi güçlendiriyor. Geleneksel üretim mirasını çağdaş mimarlık diliyle buluşturan bu yapı, arkeolojik alanla fiziksel ve kavramsal bütünlük kuran örneklerden biri olarak öne çıkıyor.

Designed by Liu Jiakun, winner of the 2025 Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick is located in the Xiangcheng district of Suzhou. As part of the Suzhou Imperial Kiln Ruins Park, which encompasses the production sites of Jin Zhuan (golden bricks) from the imperial period, the museum serves as an architectural archive of historical production techniques and material culture. The building's design abstracts and reinterprets the spaces where Jin Zhuan was produced in structures such as the Forbidden City in Beijing.

The façade system, based on the rhythmic repetition of brick elements, references both the character of the material and the production process. The museum strengthens its relationship with the ground through horizontal masses, controlled use of light, and the ratio of empty and full spaces. This structure, which brings together traditional production heritage and contemporary architectural language, stands out as an example of physical and conceptual unity with the archaeological site.
