Mevsimsel ışık ve rüzgâr hareketi projenin temel tasarım kararlarını şekillendiriyor

Proje, Japonya Hashima kentinde pirinç tarlalarıyla çevrili kırsal bir alanda konumlanıyor ve tasarım süreci çevredeki gündelik manzaranın mekânsal potansiyelini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlıyor. Mevsimsel güneş hareketi, rüzgârda salınan bitkiler ve yağmurla oluşan su yüzeyi etkileri tasarımın temel referanslarını oluşturuyor. Doğuya doğru yükselen ve yere yaklaşarak alçalan çatı, hafif dalgalanmasıyla ışık, hava koşulları ve çevresel değişimleri yapının cephesine yansıtıyor. Yüksek giriş hacmi, avlular ve verandalar aracılığıyla iç ve dış mekân arasında geçirgen bir kurgu oluşturuluyor. Güneydeki geniş açıklıklar ve alçak saçaklar, bahçeyle kurulan ilişkiyi düzenleyerek doğal ışık ve rüzgârın kontrollü biçimde içeri girmesini sağlıyor. Yapı, kullanıcıların günlük faaliyetleri sırasında çevredeki mevsimsel değişimleri fark etmelerine olanak tanıyan ara mekânlar sunuyor.

The project is located in a rural area surrounded by rice fields in Hashima, Japan, and the design process aims to reveal the spatial potential of the everyday landscape around the site. The seasonal movement of the sun, the motion of plants swaying in the wind, and the effects created on water surfaces during rain serve as key design references. The roof rises toward the east and descends close to the ground, and its gentle undulation reflects light, weather conditions, and environmental changes onto the building's façade. A permeable relationship between interior and exterior is established through the tall entrance volume, as well as courtyards and verandas placed throughout the structure. On the south side, large openings and low eaves regulate the connection to the garden, allowing natural light and wind to enter in a controlled manner. The building provides intermediate spaces that enable users to perceive the seasonal changes in the surrounding landscape during their daily activities.
