Orta Çağ’dan günümüze ulaşan Eguisheim dokusu, özgün mimarisini koruyor

Eguisheim, Fransa'nın Alsace bölgesinde yer alan ve Orta Çağ'dan beri korunan geleneksel yerleşim düzeniyle tanımlanan bir köy olarak öne çıkıyor. Yerleşimin mimari dokusu, bölgeye özgü ahşap karkaslı (colombage) konutları, çıkmalar ve renkli sıva yüzeyleriyle karakter kazanıyor. Konut tipolojisinde zemin katta ağırlıklı olarak taş duvarlar, üst katlarda ise ahşap karkas sistemin kullanılması, yapısal gerekliliklere uyum sağlayan dengeli bir düşey hiyerarşi oluşturuyor.


Köy merkezinde yer alan Saint-Léon IX Şapeli, Romanesk dönemden itibaren süregelen tarihsel sürekliliği görünür kılıyor. Yerleşim, bağcılık geleneğinin sürdürülmesiyle bölgenin ekonomik ve kültürel yapısını yansıtmaya devam ediyor. Koruma uygulamaları ise geleneksel cephe düzeni ve yapı ölçeğinin güncel gereksinimlerle uyumlu bir biçimde sürmesini destekliyor.

The fabric of Eguisheim, which has survived from the Middle Ages to the present day, retains its original architecture.


Eguisheim stands out as a village in France's Alsace region, defined by its traditional settlement pattern that has been preserved since the Middle Ages. The architectural fabric of the settlement is characterized by the region's distinctive timber-framed (colombage) houses, bay windows, and colorful plaster surfaces. The housing typology, with stone walls predominantly on the ground floor and timber-framed systems on the upper floors, creates a balanced vertical hierarchy that complies with structural requirements.


The Chapel of Saint-Léon IX, located in the village center, reveals the historical continuity that has persisted since the Romanesque period. The settlement continues to reflect the economic and cultural structure of the region through the continuation of the winegrowing tradition. Conservation practices support the preservation of the traditional facade layout and building scale in a manner compatible with contemporary requirements.
