Pontsteiger, Amsterdam kıyısında ikonik bir kapı etkisi oluşturuyor

Amsterdam'ın Houthaven bölgesinde, IJ Nehri'ne uzanan bir mendirekte yer alan Pontsteiger, 2019'da tamamlandı. Arons & Gelauff Architecten imzalı bu yapı, iki ince kuleyi bağlayan köprü formuyla kentsel ölçekte ikonik bir kapı etkisi oluşturuyor.


Houthaven'ın endüstriyel geçmişi, konut ve kamusal alanlarla yeniden tanımlanırken Pontsteiger, su kenarında hem simgesel hem işlevsel bir odak noktası. Zemin kotundaki camlı pavilyonlar, kıyı yürüyüş yolunun kesintisiz devam etmesini sağlayarak kamusal yaşamı su kenarına taşıyor.


Cephedeki sırlı yüzeyli tuğlalar, gün içinde yeşil ve bronz tonlarda değişen yansımalar sunuyor. Köprü kısmı, manzarayı çerçevelerken altındaki alanlara ışık ulaştırıyor. Prefabrik elemanlar, enerji verimliliği ve yeşil çatı gibi sürdürülebilirlik stratejileriyle yapı, çağdaş kentsel yaşamın teknik ve çevresel beklentilerine cevap veriyor.

Located on a pier extending into the IJ River in Amsterdam's Houthaven district, Pontsteiger was completed in 2019. Designed by Arons & Gelauff Architects, this structure creates an iconic gateway effect at the urban scale with its bridge form connecting two slender towers.


As Houthaven's industrial past is redefined with residential and public spaces, Pontsteiger serves as both a symbolic and functional focal point along the waterfront. Glass pavilions at ground level ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the coastal promenade, bringing public life to the water's edge.


The glazed bricks on the facade offer reflections that change between green and bronze tones throughout the day. The bridge section frames the view while allowing light to reach the areas below. With prefabricated elements and sustainability strategies such as energy efficiency and green roofs, the building meets the technical and environmental expectations of contemporary urban life.
