Provincial Court, yeni ziyaretçi merkeziyle Bruges’te yeniden işlev kazanıyor

FELT'in Bruges Grote Markt'taki tescilli Provincial Court yapısına yönelik müdahalesi, zemini kamusal alanın sürekliliğini içeriye taşıyan bir ziyaretçi merkezi olarak yeniden tanımlıyor. Neogotik yapının zemin katı, büyük ölçekli dama desenli yeni terrazzo döşemeyle tek bir forum olarak okunabilir hâle gelirken, döşemeye entegre edilen metal ızgara sistemi farklı etkinlik senaryolarına uyum sağlayan esnek bir teknik altyapı sunuyor. Bu düzenleme, hem yapının tarihsel bölümlenmesine göndermede bulunuyor hem de güncel kullanım için açık ve geçirgen bir plan şeması oluşturuyor.


Yan kanatlarda yer alan servis birimleri, sirkülasyon yapısını sadeleştirecek şekilde yeniden ele alınıyor. Güney kanadına eklenen asansör üst kattaki özgün iç mekânlara erişimi iyileştirirken, kuzeydeki yeni merdiven forum ile servis hacimleri arasında işlevsel bir bağlantı kuruyor. Üst kattaki tarihî odalar ise niteliksiz eklerden arındırılarak toplantı ve konferans kullanımları için çağdaş gereksinimlere uygun biçimde güncelleniyor.

Provincial Court regains its function in Bruges with a new visitor center


FELT's intervention in the listed Provincial Court building on Bruges' Grote Markt redefines the ground floor as a visitor center that brings the continuity of the public space indoors. The ground floor of the neo-Gothic building can be read as a single forum with its large-scale checkered new terrazzo flooring, while the metal grid system integrated into the flooring provides a flexible technical infrastructure that adapts to different event scenarios. This arrangement both references the building's historical division and creates an open and permeable plan scheme for contemporary use.


The service units located in the side wings are being redesigned to simplify the circulation structure. The elevator added to the south wing improves access to the original interior spaces on the upper floor, while the new staircase on the north establishes a functional connection between the forum and the service volumes. The historic rooms on the upper floor are being updated to meet contemporary requirements for meeting and conference use, stripped of non-essential additions.
