Schneider+Schumacher’den Modern Tasarımlı Otoyol Kilisesi

Mart 2009'da Schneider+Schumacher, A45 otoyolu boyunca bir otoyol kilisesi bulunmadığını fark eden yerel girişim için açılan yarışmayı kazanıyor ve proje Michael Schumacher'in yönlendirmesiyle Städel Müzesi ek binası ile paralel olarak tasarlanıyor. İnşaat, Mart 2011'de arkaik beton temel atılarak başlıyor ve üst yapıyı oluşturan ahşap karkas sistem prefabrik olarak üretilmiş elemanlarla montajlanıyor. Dış cephe, poliüretan su yalıtımıyla kaplanıyor ve yapının hem uzaktan hem de dinlenme tesisinden okunabilir bir siluet oluşturması sağlanıyor. İç mekânda, doğal ışık yalnızca üstteki iki kuleden alınıyor ve kare plan içinde kubbenin yarım dairesel alanları sakristi ve depolama alanı olarak kullanılıyor. İç kubbe, 66 yatay ve dikey kaburga ile toplam 650 parçadan oluşuyor ve kaburgalar birbirine geçirilerek kendi kendine taşıyıcı bir sistem oluşturuyor. İç donatılar, kubbe malzemesiyle uyumlu olarak tasarlanıyor; oturma elemanları, kürsü, diz çökmelikler ve şamdanlar kavramsal bir bütün oluşturuyor. Kilise, 26 Mayıs 2013'te Almanya'nın 40. otoyol kilisesi olarak açılıyor ve ibadete hazır hâle geliyor.

In March 2009, Schneider+Schumacher wins a competition launched for a local initiative that noticed there was no highway church along the A45 motorway, and the project is designed in parallel with the Städel Museum annex under the direction of Michael Schumacher. Construction began in March 2011 with the laying of an archaic concrete foundation, and the wooden frame system forming the superstructure was assembled using prefabricated elements. The exterior facade was covered with polyurethane waterproofing, ensuring that the building's silhouette was visible both from a distance and from the rest area. Inside, natural light enters only through the two towers at the top, and the semicircular areas of the dome within the square plan are used as the sacristy and storage space. The inner dome consists of a total of 650 pieces, including 66 horizontal and vertical ribs, which interlock to form a self-supporting system. The interior furnishings are designed to complement the dome material; the seating elements, pulpit, kneelers, and candlesticks form a conceptual whole. The church opened on May 26, 2013, as Germany's 40th motorway church and is ready for worship.
