Hattat Şefik Bey

Hocası, Kazasker Efendi'nin “ Allah beni sensiz bir cennete koymasın!” diye du'âda bulunduğu, Şefîk Bey sülüs, celî, nesih, dîvânî ve siyâkātde mertebe-i kemâle yükselen en büyük hattatlardandır. Bu hakîkāti hiçbir hattat inkâr edemez. Esrâr-ı hutûtun en dakik noktalarına vâkıfdır ki, âsar-ı bedi'âsı hoş-nüvisânın makbûl ve mağbûtudur.

Shafiq Bey, who was praised by his teacher Kazasker Efendi's prayer as, "May God not put me in a paradise without you!", is one of the greatest calligraphers who rose to perfection in the scripts of thuluth, jeli, naskh, divani, and siyaqat. No calligrapher can dispute this fact. He was well versed in the most subtle secrets of calligraphy and his magnificent works are the proof of it.
